Surgery

We have a dedicated surgical team and because our operating theatre is open 24 hours, the surgical cases have increased, we perform about 50 every month, majority being referral cases. We perform ceaserean Sections, major operations and minor ones per week. We plan to construct another theatre, a surgical ward and begin surgery camps. In the St. Stephen’s Hospital, Surgery is among the many aspects of medical care provided. In addition to general surgery, the hospital runs Urology, Orthopedic have regular weekly clinics but we also have clients fix appointments for their surgeries. The department has 2 resident medical officers and a number of visiting surgeons of different specialties. Routine work includes: Ward rounds, out-patient and consultation surgical clinics and theater work. From time to time, we get visiting(Foreign) surgeons and medical residents from our West Connecticut Health Network.
